Hey there! We're Chris and Aaron - a couple of Kiwi mates who met at uni and bonded over badly-played guitar, lame jokes and a love of the beach.
14 years later, as we were lying on a Coromandel beach, we got talking about the benefits of bamboo as a material.
Soon enough the question was asked:
"reckon we can use bamboo to make the world's best beach towel?"
Birthing the 'munki
We set to work: talking to textile experts around the world, gathering market research, and generally diving headfirst into all things towels, textiles and tans.
In early 2023, beachmunki™ was born. As it turns out, when you make a beach towel this good, good things happen :)
